It is with pleasure that I host this event, as it has long been my desire to interact with the different artists and people in Belgium in this manner. I arrived here at the very end of July of 2019 and began a process of settling my personal life and by the time I could decide to how to reach out to the performance arts community, Covid had struck over and over.
In short, this project is born out of the desire to not only connect with people, but because I believe in the healing process experienced through collectivity and sharing--whether it is during joy or sorrow or just us reflecting, I find artistic expression to be one of the most profound ways to convey the human heart and thoughts. Being fully immersed in the world of performance, I understand that our physical world shapes the way and our reasons for expression. I feel, so much. I am deeply cut by the human experience and I believe that others feel this way as well, if not even more strongly.
If any of this sounds like you, come out, grab a drink and join us. Even if you aren't sure that you are ready to share, but want to be in the room, come and sit, as there can be relief in hearing others and learning you aren't alone in thought; if there is no simililarity, just to be.
No matter where you are in Belgium or the surrounding areas, if you are able to come out and be with us this evening, you are welcome and wanted!

As we'd like the environment to be inviting and instrumental to a shared, creative experience, we ask the following:
-
Please come with the intention of remaining until the end (if possible), so that everyone will have the same audience size with the least amount of disruptions. The creative process is fluid and too many exits may disrupt the positive flow or energy in the room.
-
Please be encouraging and applause or snap (snap your fingers) at the end of each performance. The idea is to encourage each other and foster a sense of collectiveness, especially in light of the state of world that we live in. While all performances may not be every single person's flavor or vibe, attempt to take away whatever you can from the experience and acknowledge what we are all doing when we stand before each other baring our souls to one another through expression. Thanks!
-
Last, but quite important. I absolutely do not believe in censoring expression, as this stymies the process itself, but I will enforce respect. Please respect the people, the process, etc.
I'm so ready to engage with everyone, to learn what you've been carrying around, thinking, and feeling. Thank you in advance for trusting us enough to share!
